Norfolk and Waveney CCG pledge to tackle mental health inequalities
Norfolk and Waveney CCG is committed to working with our system partners to improve all aspects of health and wellbeing for our whole population. This includes a key focus on both the physical and mental health of those with mental health conditions. To support us with our mission we have joined the Equally Well UK collaborative, which will provide us with international best practice resources, robust evaluation methodology to monitor progress, networking opportunities, access to the expertise of lived experience advisors and much more.

Kevin James, Member & Chair for Equally Well Expert by Experience group and Peer Consultant & Co-Chair of Physical Health Strategy working group for NSFT says:
“I am an advocate of the need for parity esteem when it comes to physical health and mental health. For many years I have suffered with complex co-morbid conditions and Severe Mental Illness (SMI). I am so pleased that the Clinical Commissioning Group have signed up to become members of Equally Well, signed the Equally Well charter and have made commitments to reduce the health inequalities that exist within the Norfolk and Waveney population. We need to work together as a health and social care system to reduce those inequalities and to reduce the mortality gap of 20 years plus that exist for those of us with an SMI who have complex health conditions.”
